Chromtec secured its Vegreville plant in May 2019. It’s an existing factory located in the west industrial zoning of the Town of Vegreville. The lot is 6.55 acres and the facility area are more than 28,800 square feet.
The Royal Canadian Mountain Police station is located right next to our plant; it’s another extra security support for the daily operation of the factory. The industrial hemp research department of the government of Alberta (Innotech) is located across the street, which can provide a lot of technical support for the company’s future research and product development.
The surrounding area is also enriched with more than 10,000 acres of industrial hemp growing area. This can provide a continuous supply of feedstocks for the large-scale industrialization of our CBD extraction. In addition, the local government fully supports our development of the hemp industry in the Town of Vegreville and helps with: local authority consents, taxes deduction, human resource education and the raw martials form local farmers.
When retrofitting our Vegreville facility, CHROMTEC has applied both our Chinese factory construction standards and local construction codes along with Health Canada licensing requirements, in regards to; construction area, building height, power supply, water supply, drainage capacity, bearing capacity factor, and the potential future expandability for additional production lines. All relevant equipment design will be adopted from both our expertise in Chinese factory and local standards/codes. Here are the detailed development stages:
A roughly 1,200 square foot Research Lab inside our Vegreville facility is designed to obtain Chromtec’s first license, and to conduct further researches to promote Chromtec’s technical advancement. Chromtec’s Cannabis Research license is issued in Oct 2019.
Simultaneously, Chromtec’s 3,000 square foot phase 1 development is aimed to be used for obtaining its first processing license, and to produce commercial samples for its distribution and pre-orders. Construction /Retrofitting is expected to be finished at Q1 2020.
The 10,000 square foot phase 2 development is Chromtec’s pilot phase, aims to adopt Chromtec’s patented automatic production line for trial operation /production. Phase 2 is estimated to start early 2020.
Chromtec’s phase 3 is a 30,000 square foot new building to be constructed on our 6.5-acre land that bears a full production yield. Once our phase 3 starts operation it is capable to address the market demands up to 24,480 kgs of purified CBD isolates. Phase 3 is estimated to start early 2021.
Chromtec selected its Vegreville facility for the following criterions. It’s close to major industrial hemp growing area, located at an industrial zoned land, with electrical, water and waste plug in place. The property has enough empty land for the company’s future expansion. Hence, Chromtec has planned both its stage 2 design process.
The company will immediately start producing products once stage 1 is completed. The pilot production line will hit its capacity of 3,360 KG CBD extraction in the second year. On the occasion, it will produce 90% ~ 99% purity isolates up to 120 – 200 kilograms per day (output depending on purity).
Different purity grade of isolates meet a wide range of different customer demands in; pharmaceuticals companies, research institutions, cannabis dealership, food manufacture, beverage manufacture, cosmetics manufacture, and health supplement manufactures.
